The LBW Women's Leadership Academy - Rome
The Lynda Brannen Williamson Foundation, Inc. (LBW) Leadership Academy is a personal leadership development program to improve career, mentoring, and service opportunities for women launched in 2015.
Women identified for the program will have leadership potential, career aspirations, and a commitment to community and servant leadership as a lifetime journey.
The J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development facilitates the academy each year, bringing premier content and speakers to each of the eight sessions.
Launching in 2019, the LBW Women’s Leadership Academy – Rome will give twenty young professional women the opportunity to grow their leadership skills while demonstrating servant leadership.
Sample LBW Women’s Academy Session Topics:
- Meeting Community Needs through Servant Leadership and Board Service
- Managing Conflict, Building Consensus, & Inclusion
- Building Tools and Strategies for Effective Leadership
- Multigenerational Workforce & Exemplary Leadership Practices
- Life-Work Balance
How Can I Participate in the LBW Women's Leadership Academy?
All members of each LBW Women’s Leadership Academy class have been nominated by academy alumnae, board members, or community members because of their demonstration of being an emerging young professional woman leader.
So what does that mean exactly?
Members of each co-hort are young professional women, who are active or beginning to become active in their community, up-and-coming leaders in their fields, and that demonstrate servant leadership. These are the women that 10 years from now you can see leading a local non-profit organization or board, or maybe even your workplace.
All academy nominees are invited to submit an application and that community’s advisory board will score the applications and select the young women to participate in that year’s leadership academy.
Nominations are accepted during the month of May and applications will sent to those nominated. Academy sessions run September – May.
